hellokorin holiday: travel makeup

For a lot of people, myself included, the holidays are usually a time for traveling. This year Ginger is coming along, so that means I'm down to one overhead bag and Ginger's carrier. While packing 10 days worth of clothes, accessories, and doggy supplies into my trusty yellow bag is going to be difficult, one way to create space is to pare down my beauty routine to the essentials. I don't wear a ton of makeup regularly anyway, but like most of the ladies I know, I've amassed more than my fair share of products. So if you're jet-setting this Christmas, instead of just tossing your entire cosmetics bag into your suitcase and praying for the zipper to close, give my trusty makeup essentials a try!

Currently Craving: Cold-Weather Gear

It's been feeling a lot like winter lately here (for now at least), and I've been using the couple of coats I have like crazy—my leather jacket's a current favorite. But as the season progresses I know I'm going to be needing more coverage (and more options), so here are a few winter-resistant pieces I'm craving. And btw—they're all budget-friendly!

CC_Winter 1. Herringbone coat, The Limited 2. Skirted dress coat, J. Crew Factory 3. Biker cape coat, ASOS 4. Tweed coat, ASOS 5. Field jacket, JC Penney 6. Faux fur infinity scarf, Nordstrom 7. Funnel-collar coat, H&M 8. Knit hat, Anthropologie

Currently Craving: Travel

The longer I spend away from J and the closer it gets to his visit, the more I find myself daydreaming about our travel plans. We both grew up travelling, both around the country and abroad, and we plan to continue that together. While we do have to be apart for the next few years, we're planning on weekend visits and getaways to help bridge the distance. Here are just a few of the things I'm craving for travelling, along with a couple must-haves!

Travel1. Corkboard map Such a cute way to document your travels

2. Snake print flats A neutral print like this adds some interest, and can be worn with anything

3. Pink sweater A pop of a bright solid color is easy to wear without being boring, and sweaters are great for chilly flights and unexpected weather

4. Chain strap watch Simple (and cheap!), and perfect for catching flights, showtimes, and dinner reservations

5. Camera bag Looks and works like a handbag, but with a secured section for your camera! Much better than lugging around a traditional camera bag, or tossing your camera into your purse to get scratched and tossed around

6. Hidden arch supports You never know how long those airport lines will be, or when impromptu sightseeing could strike; be prepared!

7. Facial wipes These are a favorite of mine on a regular basis, and are a definite must when travelling

8. Passport holder Your passport is the most important thing when travelling abroad, why not make it stylish while keeping it protected?
