Our First Christmas

This year, we celebrated our first official Christmas as "The Kamczycs!" After getting married, buying our first home, and all the other excitements 2016 had to offer, we decided to spend our holiday relaxing in the solitude and serenity of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. We soaked up every ounce of our surroundings we possibly could, watched hours of Christmas movies and holiday baking shows, braved the cold weather for calming dips in the hot tub, dried off by the fireplace, exchanged stockings, and I can't remember the last time I was so relaxed.

A few photos from our trip:

I couldn't ask for a better view ;)

We could hear cows mooing in the distance, and a rooster crowing, and it felt like we were an entire world away, sitting in the sky.

Does my husband know me, or does he know me? He fed all my obsessions: magazines, scented candles, jigsaw puzzles, Elvis Presley, dark chocolate, photography (a fun Polaroid camera!) and orange tic-tacs. He won this year's stocking-stuffing, hands down.

This was the first Christmas in a lifetime of Christmases, and it's one I will never forget.

hellokorin holiday: wishlist exchange

It's the first week of December, and that means the start of my new blog post series—hellokorin holiday! As a countdown to the Christmas holidays (and to my vacation time, yay!), I'm putting together several #hkholiday guides to get you through the season.

First up: holiday wishlists with Basically Bubbly! The items topping her list are fun, flirty, and on-trend—just like her! Take a peek and read more about her picks below, then head over and find mine here.

LSTN Headphones "During my day job I work in an open office, and these gorgeous headphones would be perfect to help keep me focused."
Gold Flatware "This flatware is a dream item! With our new love of hosting parties, Jas and I could really stand to have some beautiful matching flatware, and gold matches everything!"
For Love and Lemons She's a Knockout Bra "Lacey and sexy. Need I say more?"
Sincerely Jules Cali Palms Tee "Every girl needs a reminder that it’s summer somewhere and it might as well be on your tee." (Oh no, already sold out! Similar here, and more Sincerely Jules tees here.)

Impossible Project Polaroid Film "Obsessed with Polaroids, but without film. It’s a problem."

Gift It: Graduation

It's almost that time again! It's hard to believe that it's been nearly a year since I walked across the stage myself, but at the same time so much has happened that I can't believe it's only been a year. As I'm starting to prepare for my trip back to Georgia to watch my guy get his Master's degree (so proud of you, J!), I thought some of you might be attending graduations of your own or graduating yourself. So whether you need gift ideas for a special graduate or need to give some ideas for what you want, here are a few things any grad would be thrilled to get.

Gift It: Valentine's Day

Happy Monday, everyone! Today starts the last week of January, and the internet has already exploded with Valentine's Day madness. J and I aren't big celebrators of this day, mostly because we have several other "more important" holidays that follow close behind (birthdays and our anniversary, I mean). Because we'll be so far apart this year, and because he'll be coming to visit for his birthday/spring break in a month or so, J and I have decided to save our money and energy and not celebrate at all this year (not including a phone call or Skype chat, I'm sure). Nonetheless, it's hard not to love all the red and pink gorgeousness floating around the stores lately, so I've put together a few (budget-friendly) suggestions for gifts for the ladies. And yes, buying yourself a gift for Valentine's Day totally counts. Enjoy! (:

We each came up with a few items we'd love to find under our trees. When you're done, check out what I'm wishing for. Here are a few of her favorite things (that are now a few of my favorites too)!
