Craigslist Catch: modern office chair

After a small summer hiatus, we are back with another edition of Craigslist Catch! This week's steal is a gorgeous tufted faux leather chair with a bent metal frame:

I'm imagining it going to live out its golden years in a sophisticated, modern-meets-boho office space, like one of these:

Because it's been listed for a while, I'd try to haggle it down a little closer to the $50 mark. I'd pair it with a clean-lined white desk, warm up the space with artwork and a vintage rug in peachy tones, and toss a faux-sheepskin rug over its back. I could definitely see myself upping my productivity in an inspiring workspace like this!

Now someone, go save it!

New Collection from CB2

You guys, CB2 has some new stuff out. And it's modern meets glam meets minimal meets just plain GOOD. It's also a pretty fair balance of masculine and feminine style, which is something I notice now that I'm thinking about my future shared space with J. I've compiled a few of my favorites to get you started, but you should really go take a peek for yourself:

look for less: office space

It may be because I have my own mini home office redesign on the brain, but it seems that gorgeous, chic work spaces are everywhere I look lately (case in point: this article, this article, and this pinterest board). I pinned some really great office spaces on my own interiors board this week, so I decided to pick a few of my favorites to recreate for you! Below I've shown you how to get a room that looks pretttttttty close to the photo. And, because you know I'm always looking for a deal, I've also put together a room with a similar look, but for a lot less.

hellokorin holiday: decorating small spaces

If you love decorating for the holidays, but don't love the idea of trying to cram a 6-foot tree and mounds of garland, lights, stockings, and other decorations into your apartment, you've come to the right place. Getting into the Christmas spirit doesn't mean having to squeeze past the tree to get to the bedroom or eat with your dinner in your lap because the nativity set and snow globes and stocking holders are crowding every flat surface within sight. I'll show you how to get maximum festivity with minimal square footage in just a few easy, creative steps:

decorate1

The golden rule for decorating an apartment: small space = small decorations. Opt for a miniature tree, and hang fewer, more deliberate ornaments. Not enough space for a full wreath? Hang a few fir sprigs tied with a pretty ribbon!

decorate2

An easy way to save space with decorations is to hang them up on the wall! Try out a fun Christmas tree alternative, or hang ornaments from a light fixture! And instead of bulky figurines taking up valuable space, hang festive banners or wreaths on the walls.

decorate3

Decorating can start to feel cramped when you add special holiday pieces to your existing decor; try swapping them out instead. Box up your everyday dishes and give them a rest, swapping them with fun holiday plates and place mats; stash your normal throw pillows away and replace them with Christmas-themed ones; and switch out the art on the walls with framed holiday pictures or lyrics to your favorite Christmas song!

I wanna see your apartment's holiday style! Snap a pic of your digs and tag me @hellokorin_ on Instagram.

Friday Five: Fresh Decor

FridayFive Happy Friday, guys! I've been in a bit of a redecorating mood lately (what's new), so I've been scouring the internet for ideas of ways to add a fresh look to my space without buying all new everything. Maybe my finds will inspire new ideas from you! Here are 5 pieces I'm loving right now:

STATE WALL ART Add a personal touch to your space by showing some state pride! I've been debating adding one of these to my walls ONLY because I can't decide between getting my home state or my current state. Seriously, these unique pieces are handcrafted and the price can't be beat. Maybe I'll just get both.

TURTLE DISH A small, charming dish is the perfect way to add some color that serves a purpose. Set it on a console by the front door to toss your keys into, or put it on the counter in the bathroom as a jewelry catch-all. Oh no, it's already sold out! Here are a couple of similar ones.

TUFTED OTTOMAN I love how versatile and easy a little ottoman like this is. It's perfect for apartment living because you can easily move it around to change up the look of your room, and it doubles as a table for mini projects (or food) while you're watching tv ;)

FIG TREE I love the idea of adding some greenery to my apartment, but I'm not confident in my abilities to keep something this big alive, so I'm starting out small with a few cacti on my balcony. If this goes well, an indoor tree may be in my future!

GRAPHIC PRINT I ordered this print and just hung it on my dining room wall, and I LOVE it as a graphic element. The wall it's on faces the front door, so it's one of the first things I see when I get home after a long day. Side note-- the Etsy shop owner is doing a little reorganizing, but she'll be back up and running next week! Trust me, it's worth the wait.
